FPD: Flat Panel Display

(1) VCIM-TRK process control

 This system tracks the progress of a process, lot by lot or workpiece by workpiece from product input to completion, and obtains detailed information on process metrics for the whole line. Developed for semiconductor upstream-process lines, it has extensive functionality to accommodate complex and flexible product flows.

VCIM-TRK process control

  1. Lot composition
    Composes lots from accepted primary materials and inputs the lots to the line.
  2. Process handling
    Registers start/completion of each process carried out on each lot or workpiece. Supports both batch processing and single-wafer processing. Information can be input using a PDA or a Web browser.
  3. Event handling
    This function registers event-handling metrics for expected events such as lot splitting/merging, reworking and hold setting/cancellation.
  4. Reference screen
    Displays process metrics history for a lot or workpiece, or the current state of the process.

(2) VCIM-PQC quality control

 Collects data measured by inspection devices and measurement instruments, performs acceptability assessment based on inspection rules. Control graphs and other graphics are displayed to make the information easy to grasp at a glance.

(3) VCIM-SPC quality control

 Facilitates the prevention of failures by evaluating data variation and trends using 8 abnormality-determination rules following Shewhart control charts (JIS Z 9021).

VCIM-TRK process control

  • Rule 1 - Control limits: 1 point beyond zone A
  • Rule 2 - Series: 9 points in a row on the same side of the central line
  • Rule 3 - Trend: 6 points in a row increasing or decreasing
  • Rule 4 - Alternating increases/decreases: 14 points in a row alternately increasing and decreasing
  • Rule 5 - Limit lines approached: 2 out of 3 points in a row in zone A or beyond
  • Rule 6 - Outside 1σ: 4 out of 5 points in a row in zone B or beyond
  • Rule 7 - Centering trend: 15 points in a row in zone C
  • Rule 8 - Continuously outside 1σ: 8 points in a row beyond zone C

 Commands for failures can be defined individually. However, the commands themselves need to be created separately.

(4) VCIM-EC equipment control

 Obtains equipment information in real time through equipment connectivity.

(5) VCIM-FC flow control

 Delivers automatic flow within and between processes by issuing carrying instructions online to AGVs and other automatic conveying vehicles and stockers.

  2. Issues carrier warehousing/picking instructions to stockers
  3. Arranges temporary emptying of carrier into replacement stocker when target stocker is full

(6) VCIM-SP specification control

 Converts the manufacturing specification information containing instructions from the designer to the production floor into database format and links up with the process control system to reduce operational errors, facilitate the sharing of specification information, and increase efficiency of engineering operations. It comes into its own when used for prototyping lines and other production floors where a wide variety of products are produced in small lots and specifications are revised frequently.
