History of the Branch Office

The Chubu Branch Office in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, two Service Centers (Shizuoka and Yokkaichi), and one Service Station (Kanazawa). As of July 2024, we have a total of 90 employees working to improve customer satisfaction in the region: 69 in services (Process Equipment, Process Control, Beam Technology, analysis, medical, and Industrial Instruments), 17 in the office, and 4 stationed at other locations.
In December 2017, the Chubu Branch Office was renovated and the layout was changed to improve the work flow and working environment for engineers and back office staff.
In May 2019, the Yokkaichi Office implemented a layout change, expanding the office space, warehouse (receiving room), and changing rooms to improve operational efficiency and strengthen health and safety.
In April 2020, the Kanazawa Office moved to a newly built building located a 5-minute walk from the west exit of JR Kanazawa Station. The new office is about twice the size of the old office, and the warehouse, which was previously located in a separate location and inconvenient, has been integrated to improve convenience, and new booths for Teams and a refreshment corner have been installed to create a comfortable office environment that is easy to work in.
In May 2021, the Shizuoka Office underwent a layout change, converting to an OA floor and introducing a free-address system for the office space, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and revitalizing communication. Also in the same year, in response to the spread of the new coronavirus, work was carried out to enable work to be carried out in a decentralized manner on the first and second floors of the Chubu Branch Office.
In April 2022, the names of the Yokkaichi Service Station and Shizuoka Service Station were changed to the Yokkaichi Office and Shizuoka Office, respectively.

Topics

Since 2022, as part of our CSR activities, we have been participating in the "Science Practical School Outreach Lessons" organized by the Aichi Prefecture Bureau of Industry and Economy in collaboration with the Hitachi High-Tech Chubu Branch Office, and we contribute to science support activities by holding annual outreach lessons at junior high schools in Aichi Prefecture, focusing on "demonstrations of observing familiar objects around us" using electron microscopes.
In May 2023, the Chubu Branch Office was commended by the Aichi Prefectural Police Headquarters as a "Safe Driving Business Office".A "traffic safety excellent business office" is defined as "a business office that is well aware of the importance of the role that companies play in preventing traffic accidents, and that actively promotes traffic safety education and other activities, achieving excellent results". The Chubu Branch Office has the largest number of service cars of any of our nationwide offices, and we are working hard every day to achieve our goal of zero accidents.

Commendation as a "Safe Traffic Business Office"

On January 1st 2024, a major earthquake of intensity 7 occurred on the Noto Peninsula, and an intensity 5-upper was observed in Kanazawa City. A tsunami warning was issued immediately afterwards, and employees were evacuated to higher ground for a time. Although the damage to the Kanazawa Office was minor, the employees worked hard to restore services to customers in the disaster area, even working through the New Year holiday.

Future Prospects

In the area covered by the Chubu Branch Office, new transportation networks have been developed in recent years. In the Hokuriku region, the Hokuriku Shinkansen (Nagano to Kanazawa) line opened in March 2015, and it will be extended to Tsuruga Station in March 2024, improving access to the Tokyo, Kansai, and Chubu regions and attracting companies to the area.
In addition, the Chūō Shinkansen (linear central bullet train) is scheduled to open in the Chūbu region after 2027, and it is expected to connect the region to the Tokyo metropolitan area in just 40 minutes. This is expected to lead to further development in the Nagoya area, and the Chubu Branch Office will aim to further expand its business.
