Global Parts Dept.
Prior to 2015, the former International Sales Department was in charge of sales of maintenance parts for semiconductor manufacturing, measurement and inspection equipment for Hitachi High-Tech's overseas subsidiaries.
In order to strengthen the service support system for customers in the global market from 2017 onwards, this business was transferred from the former Overseas Sales Department to the Process Equipment Department and Evaluation Equipment Department, and service and parts were integrated.
In 2024, in response to increased customer investment due to rising global demand for semiconductors, the Global Parts Dept was established to further strengthen this business and ensure that measures are implemented, and integrated management of semiconductor manufacturing equipment parts and measurement and inspection equipment parts began.
After 2020, the international situation became more complex due to the spread of the new coronavirus, the US-China trade friction, and Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Against this background, demand for semiconductors is increasing further, and semiconductor manufacturers are stepping up their capital investment, while governments are strengthening their own semiconductor industries through subsidies and actively attracting semiconductor factories (in Japan, the US, the EU, etc.). For semiconductor equipment manufacturers, it is essential to maintain a stable supply chain, and to ensure the stable operation of equipment and the stable supply of parts.
As Hitachi High-Tech's semiconductor equipment business accelerates its overseas expansion, Hitachi High-Tech's overseas subsidiaries are calling for shorter lead times for parts in order to ensure stable equipment operation. In collaboration with Hitachi High-Tech's related departments, we will shorten lead times for parts by optimizing inventory through highly accurate demand forecasting, and will work to ensure a stable supply of parts.
