Higashikanto Branch Office

Higashikanto Branch Office

Location:844 Ichige, Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture

History of the Branch Office

In October 2015, the Higashikanto Branch Office was renamed the Higashi Nihon Regional Head Office and came under the jurisdiction of the Tohoku Branch Office and the Kan-etsu Branch Office, following the transition from a nationwide system of 10 branch offices to a nationwide system of 4 Regional Head Office. In April 2016, the Kisarazu Junction and Togane Junction of the Metropolitan Inter-City Expressway (Ken-O Expressway) opened, improving convenience from Kanagawa Prefecture to Chiba Prefecture, and the Chiba Service Station was transferred to the Kanagawa Branch Office. In April 2020, due to a re-evaluation of the Regional Head Office system, the Hokkaido Branch Office and Tohoku Branch Office came under its jurisdiction, but in April 2022, due to a change from a branch office system to a Regional Head Office system, the name was changed to the current Higashi-Kanto Branch Office.
In addition, the number of staff increased in 2019 due to the establishment of the East Kanto Technical Center and the Refurbishment Group in the Process Control Systems Dept.
This increase in staff coincided with the period of the spread of the new coronavirus, so in March 2021, we introduced a free-address system to ensure social distancing and improve the working environment. This has also led to improved communication and motivation among employees.
The Tsukuba Office received a request to move offices in January 2020 due to the opening of the Tsukuba Technical Center, and moved to the Hirosawa Tsukuba Building in the same city, while also improving the workplace environment and employee motivation through the introduction of a free-address system. In addition, the location has good access to the Tsukuba Central Interchange on the Ken-O Expressway, making it a base with excellent mobility.

In November 2014, the Kashima Office was relocated to the adjacent Kashima Central Building Annex due to seismic issues with the tenant building. In April 2019, the office space was expanded to improve the work environment due to an increase in personnel and to improve the response to visitors and business travelers.
In addition, the Kashima Office is located in the same building as the Kashima Sales Office of Hitachi High-Tech Solutions, and the service and sales departments work together to provide services to customers in the Kashima Coastal Industrial Complex area.

Topics

Until 2019, before the spread of the new coronavirus, the Higashikanto Branch Office participated in the annual Naka Summer Festival, a regular event at Hitachi High-Tech's Naka Division, and deepened its ties with related departments and affiliated companies.
However, the summer festival had been canceled due to the spread of the new coronavirus, but it was held for the first time in five years in 2024. From now on, we will continue to participate in various events at the Hitachi High-Tech Naka Division and work together as a branch office to act as a bridge between related departments and affiliated companies.
In addition, the Higashi Kanto Branch Office, Tsukuba Office, and Kashima Office are actively participating in social contribution activities such as coastal clean-up campaigns organized by local governments, and are continuing to take action to contribute to a sustainable global environment.
As part of its efforts to reduce its environmental impact, in 2024 the company introduced electric vehicles (EVs) for its service cars at all its branch offices for the first time. In the future, we will continue to contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, including by switching to electric vehicles for our service cars, so that our branch office can contribute to carbon neutrality.

Future Prospects

The service area covered by the Higashikanto Branch Office is centered on Ibaraki Prefecture, and the branch provides services to private customers in Iwaki City, Fukushima Prefecture, and customers in the northeast of Chiba Prefecture. In Ibaraki Prefecture, the birthplace of Hitachi, we are making the most of our geographical advantage to provide superior service, and we are continuing to provide service that makes the most of the synergy effects that can be achieved through collaboration with Hitachi, Ltd., the Hitachi High-Tech Naka Division, and Hitachi High-Tech Group companies.
In the future, the Higashikanto Branch Office will promote initiatives to solve customer issues and contribute to social development through a new approach that starts with the customer's issues, in order to achieve customer success through both product and customer services, which is the ideal state for 2030.
