Tokyo Branch Office

Tokyo Branch Office

Location:Yotsuya International Building 3F, 4-4-1 Yotsuya, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo

History of the Branch Office

In October 2015, the Regional Head Office system was reviewed based on the concept of “Base is the starting point”, and the Tokyo Regional Head Office was established as a Regional Head Office that oversees the Hokkaido Branch Office and Kanagawa Branch Office, with the aim of developing proactive and effective branch office services by consolidating departments that span multiple branches. At the time of its establishment, the Tokyo Regional Head Office was located in the same building as the service department, so there were no service departments directly linked to the Tokyo Regional Head Office, and the service departments were organized under the direct control of each service department.
In April 2020, the jurisdiction of the Regional Head Office were reorganized, and the Hokkaido Branch Office came under the jurisdiction of the East Japan Regional Head Office, while the Kan-etsu Branch Office came under the jurisdiction of the Tokyo Regional Head Office. As a result, the area under the jurisdiction of the Tokyo Regional Head Office became specialized in the Kanto and Koshinetsu regions, and it became possible to activate the dispatch of engineers within the Regional Head Office and to equalize the busy and slow periods more than before.
In December 2021, the company moved to the Yotsuya International Building along with the customer support center call center. The move was accompanied by a significant improvement in the work environment, and in particular, the office space was changed from fixed seating to a free address system, creating an environment that facilitates communication across departmental boundaries.
In April 2022, the company's internal processes were simplified and the Regional Head Office system was reviewed to speed up decision-making and management decisions, and the Tokyo Regional Head Office became the Tokyo branch office. In addition, the semiconductor evaluation equipment section was transferred to the Kanetsu branch office due to the consolidation of bases. Furthermore, in April 2021, the company started a service for the BT (Beam Technology) service business transferred from Hitachi High-Tech Science as the Electron Microscope Section 2.
In April 2023, the Process Equipment Section was transferred to the Kanetsu Branch Office, in the same way as the previous year's consolidation of the Semiconductor Process Equipment Sect.
In April 2024, following the transfer of the healthcare business of Hitachi, Ltd. to Hitachi High-Tech through a company split, some service operations were transferred, and the Tokyo Branch Office also became responsible for servicing the specimen preprocessing system in the Medical Instruments Sect.

Topics

The Tokyo Branch Office underwent a complete office layout change in May 2024. There were two major changes: the call center, which had been split between the 3rd and 4th floors, was consolidated into the 4th floor (implemented in March 2024), and the receiving room and measuring instrument storage area of the Tokyo Branch Office were expanded and moved to the former call center area on the 3rd floor. In addition, we have increased the number of table seats in the work area and newly established a meeting room. Due to the layout change, the space in the receiving room and for measuring instruments has become larger than before, and the safety and efficiency of employees has been maintained.

Future Prospects

One of the features of the Tokyo Branch Office is that, unlike other branches, it has a large number of staff from departments that have been transferred to the service business, such as the Beam Technology Systems Dept and the Medical Instruments 2nd Dept.
In order to respond to the needs of an even more important customer base, the company has deployed a large number of chief engineers, and there are also departments where many new recruits have been assigned, so the head office department is positioned as an important base. The environment is changing significantly as a whole company, such as in response to the full-scale operation of DX in FY 2024 and the acceptance of the healthcare business, but we will respond flexibly to these changes.
In order to achieve "continuing to enhance product services based on stable operations and developing into value-proposal-type services", we will promote "changing our mindset from selling time to selling value and changing our strategy", "developing human resources" and "creating a comfortable workplace", and we will work towards solving customer issues through regional strategies that make the most of the characteristics of the Tokyo Branch Office.
