Introduction of Eco-design (Environmentally Conscious Design)

At the Hitachi High-Tech Group, we have introduced new initiatives to engage in eco-design (environmentally conscious design) since 2016. As a result of the introduction of eco-design, we have done more than merely reduce the environmental impact of our business. These initiatives are based on the international standard, IEC62430*1, and they have penetrated the Group’s product development processes, which are based on global trends. Furthermore, we are seeking reforms in the Group’s business processes, and we expect improvements in the environmental awareness of our technicians and other parties involvedAt the Hitachi High-Tech Group, we have introduced new initiatives to engage in eco-design (environmentally conscious design) since 2016. It evaluates the degree of attainmnet of Developmental Target (Environmental Target) of environmental burden produced in a different stage of product life cycle. As a result of the introduction of eco-design, we have done more than merely reduce the environmental impact of our business. Furthermore, we are seeking reforms in the Group’s business processes, and we expect improvements in the environmental awareness of our technicians and other parties involved.

We are conducting information sessions and discussion meetings at each site to promote penetration within organizations.

The Hitachi High-Tech Group is working to reduce our own environmental impact, while also reducing the impact on the environment by providing products with environmentally conscious design.
