When you next buy sunscreen, take a look at the SPF number. This index shows the effectiveness of that sunscreen in preventing sunburn. If the SPF is 3, that means that you will be protected for three times longer than you would if you did not apply it. Around 5 is good for standard trips outdoors and 7 to 18 is suitable when playing sports outdoors.
