Kyo-masu determined by the nationwide land survey is virtually the same amount
The person who associates the sho unit with Japanese sake certainly likes his liquor, and this unit is still familiar to us today. It originated in China, but it was the kyo-masu created by Hideyoshi which was the foundation of this amount. This amount was increased by the Edo Shogunate and the newly-created kyo-masu is virtually the same as the modern-day 1 sho.
