Hitachi High-Tech

Remote class in Moscow

Moomin-Troll School, Moscow
2021/2/18

On February 18, 2020, Hitachi High-Technologies, Rus LLC. held a remote class using the TM4000 Tabletop Microscopes at Moomin-Troll School in Moscow as part of the school’s “Festival of Scientific Curiosity”.

The class was attended by twelve 12-13 year-old high-school pupils. Despite the restrictions on school visitors due to the COVID-19 pandemic, staff working from home in Moscow were able to provide a remote lecture on the body structures of insects and a hands-on demo of a TM4000 tabletop microscope based in Hitachi High-Tech headquarters in Tokyo.

Our staff guided the pupils as they took remote control of the microscope and they were able to examine and measure a variety of samples such as an ant, diatom plankton, egg-shells and grains of salt and sugar. Although they were nervous about operating high-tech equipment, after some encouragement they were exploring the microworld enthusiastically.

Hitachi High-Technologies, Rus LLC were happy to contribute to the school Festival of Scientific Curiosity and are looking forward to new online lessons with junior school and high school students.
