Established Korea HISCO Ltd.

In response to the fact that Hitachi semiconductor equipment was being used by a Korean semiconductor manufacturers, "Korea HISCO Ltd. " was established in April 1991. This was the first overseas subsidiary of the company.

CS improvement activities begin

The Customer Satisfaction improvement activities, which began in 1992, evolved from its initial focus on education and awareness-raising activities to the "ACT Plus 1" team activities centered on group activities under the policy of "prompt and flawless service based on the improvement of customer satisfaction" from 1995.

The Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake

Taking prompt initial action, service engineers at the Hyogo Branch and Kansai Branch worked day and night to investigate the situation and repair the equipment. With the headquarters task force at the center, the entire company worked together to provide support, including supplying relief supplies, making phone calls to customers and related parties, dispatching staff to provide on-site backup, and providing counseling to local employees on living matters.

Development and enhancement of IT infrastructure

In October 1995, we set up a website and introduced e-mail, and worked to improve our IT infrastructure, and in November 1997, we achieved networking of all locations and the provision of a PC for each employee. In April 1998, a call center was launched that used NTT's CTI technology.

Introduction of a product-specific technical certification system

Strengthening our technical capabilities has been a constant theme for our company since its founding. The technical certification system was implemented in February 1998 in the service department for 18 product types with the aim of having each service engineer objectively assess their technical level and improve their technical level. Furthermore, in October 2000, the scope was expanded to include 160 product types.

Head office relocated to Shinjuku, Tokyo

The head office was relocated from Sendagaya, Shibuya Ward to the PALT Building in Yotsuya, Shinjuku Ward, with the aim of integrating the head office functions that had been dispersed and relocating to a building with higher earthquake resistance standards.

Accepting the transfer of etching equipment-related operations

The Hitachi Group transferred its etching equipment service operations to us, and we strengthened our service system for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

"HISCO Forest (now Ibaraki Forest)" tree-planting activities begin

Employees organized a volunteer group to plant 5,000 trees in the "HISCO Forest in Ibaraki ", and a similar initiative has also started in Mie Prefecture. Since then, we have been involved in a greening support campaign through forest management activities such as thinning, pruning, and clearing undergrowth.

The four overseas subsidiaries^* were integrated into the overseas subsidiaries of Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation (now Hitachi High-Tech Corporation).

In line with the Hitachi Group policy of aiming to maximize corporate group value by improving customer satisfaction through the establishment of an integrated sales and service management system, and by improving regional management functions and management efficiency, the four overseas subsidiaries of Hitachi High-Tech were integrated with Hitachi High-Tech's overseas subsidiaries.

Company name changed to Hitachi High-Tech Fielding Corporation

With the aim of further strengthening the sense of unity within the Hitachi High-Tech Group and enhancing the corporate value of the Group through consolidated management, the company name was changed from Hitachi Instrument Service Co., Ltd. to Hitachi High-Tech Fielding Corporation, and the company made a fresh start in its 41st year of operation.

The Great East Japan Earthquake

The Great East Japan Earthquake that struck on March 11, 2011 caused extensive damage to customer facilities, including the Tohoku Branch and Higashi Kanto Branch offices. An emergency disaster response headquarters was immediately established across the company, and engineers from each base provided support to restore the equipment and facilities of affected customers. The entire company worked together to respond quickly, including providing relief supplies from all over the country and checking on the situation through regular video conferences.

The Kumamoto Earthquake Occurred

On April 14th and 16th 2016, two earthquakes of a maximum intensity of 7 occurred in the Kumamoto region of Kumamoto Prefecture, causing significant damage to employees, customers and products already delivered, and the Kumamoto Service Station (at the time), Kyushu Branch, Head Office and each base worked together to carry out early recovery activities. While the safety confirmation system and earthquake-proofing measures taken at the office were effective, it was also confirmed that there was a need for further information sharing and the creation of an organization that is resilient to disasters.

Service-related Incident Eradication Project Launched

In order to eliminate incidents caused by services, which had been on the rise since 2014, a new accident analysis method was adopted and a "Service-Caused incident Eradication Project" was launched to promote preventive measures. As a result of measures such as case studies for engineers, the enforcement of safety and quality patrols, and risk reduction through the analysis of safety awareness survey results, the project was able to continue with zero service-related accidents, and in April 2018, the project activities were completed and taken over by the Quality Assurance Department (at the time) for service quality improvement activities.

Revision of corporate vision

In line with the revision of the corporate vision of Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation (at the time), we established a new corporate vision based on the "The spirit of (HFD)*" of "prompt and complete service " as "we aim to be the best partner to create the future together ", and made it our future vision.

Head office relocated to Minato-ku, Tokyo

In February 2020, the company relocated its headquarters to the newly built "Toranomon Hills Business Tower" in Minato-ku, Tokyo. By moving into the same building as the Hitachi High-Tech Group Headquarters and Group companies, communication has become even easier, making it possible to create businesses that transcend the boundaries between each Group Headquarters and Group company.

Spread of the new coronavirus infection

In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus that had spread worldwide from 2020, various measures were implemented, including promoting telecommuting, establishing standards for wearing masks, limiting the rate of employees coming to the office, and banning social gatherings and meals in principle. In addition, at the service site, measures were taken to deal with each customer, such as regular PCR testing and limiting the number of visitors. During this time, measures to promote telecommuting, such as remote call centers and electronic signatures, rapidly took hold.

Transfer of FIB-SEM combined device and probe microscope service operations

The service department of the BT (Beam Technology) business was transferred from Hitachi High-Tech Science Corporation, and the Electron Microscope Department 2 (at the time) was established. By working in collaboration with the Electron Microscope Department 1 (at the time), it has become possible to provide a single point of contact for services to common customers and to provide uniform services, and the aim is to improve customer satisfaction.

Model plant completed

The old model plant, which was a training facility for Industrial Instruments Sect. located on the grounds of the Higashikanto Branch Office, had reached the limit of its functional expansion due to equipment renewal, so a new building and the latest model plant were constructed. This will enable the systematic implementation of engineer technical training, and is expected to have further effects, such as education for Hitachi Group and authorized dealers, product PR, and contributions to recruitment activities through accepting student interns.

DX initiatives aimed at integrating manufacturing, sales and services have begun.

The Hitachi High-Tech Group is currently promoting the DX (Digital Transformation) Project, a business innovation project, with the aim of creating a simple and speedy organization. Rather than simply replacing the system, the aim is to achieve business reform that realizes overall optimization by simplifying the manufacturing, sales and service business processes to achieve the ideal state that has been considered from the perspective of what should we really be doing for our customers?".

HFD Day 2023

HFD Day 2023 was held as a new initiative to strengthen communication between employees. It is positioned primarily as a forum for disseminating information within the company, and the aim is to share what employees are working on in their day-to-day work, regardless of department or location, in order to gain mutual awareness and hints for work, and to continue to aim for an event that is easy for anyone to participate in.

DRIVE CHART Introduction

As part of measures to eliminate service car accidents, we have started to support safe driving by introducing a driving chart. The AI automatically detects risky driving, and by visualizing this through reports, it helps to improve awareness of safe driving. Furthermore, by linking it with the driving log and alcohol check records, it also has the effect of improving efficiency and reducing the burden through integrated management.

SDGs materiality setting

The Hitachi High-Tech Group and Hitachi High-Tech have identified five materiality issues from two perspectives: "societal demands " and "business importance, " based on the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), which are common rules and achievement targets for the international community, as measures to be taken to solve social issues.

Accepting the transfer of sample preparation system service operations

As a result of the company split of Hitachi's healthcare business, Medical Instruments 2nd Dept., which handles sample preparation systems, etc., was transferred to our company. As this system has been delivered to major inspection centers, university hospitals, etc., further improvements in customer satisfaction are expected in the future through the strengthening of customer contact and the speeding up of responses through integrated management with the Medical Equipment Division 1.
