Kyushu Branch Office
Location:Fukugin Hakata Building 4F, 12-20 Kamikawabata-machi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka-shi, Fukuoka
The Kyushu Branch Office has been located in Kamikawabata-machi, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City since October 2008, and in February 2023, together with Hitachi High-Tech, which is located on the same floor, we changed the office layout to take into account a new normal way of working, with the aim of revitalizing communication and improving work performance.
In addition, the number of employees at the Kyushu Branch Office has increased from 40 in October 2014 to 49 at present (as of June 2024). (If we compare the number of employees in Kyushu as a whole over the same period, the number has increased from 65 to 85.)
Currently, the Kyushu Branch Office is made up of six departments: Process Equipment Dept, Process Control Systems Dept, Beam Technology Systems Dept, Analytical Instruments Dept, Medical Instruments Dept. and Industrial Instruments Dept, but from 2016, the domestic sales department was transferred to the head office. In addition, the Kyushu Branch Office's service centers and service stations will remain unchanged at five locations (Kumamoto, Oita, Miyazaki, Kagoshima, and Okinawa) from 2014 onwards, and service activities will be carried out with the key goal of achieving high-quality, high-efficiency services that make the most of mobility in a wide area that includes the whole of Kyushu and parts of the Chugoku region.
The Kagoshima Office was relocated and opened in January 2022 as an office with satellite office functions, ahead of the opening of offices at other locations nationwide. In addition, Kumamoto will play an important role in the future, and it was upgraded to a service center in April 2023, and the office layout was changed in October 2024.
An event that must not be forgotten when discussing the progress of the Kyushu Branch Office over the past 10 years is the Kumamoto Earthquake that occurred in April 2016. The Kumamoto earthquake was unprecedented in that it was preceded by foreshocks and a main shock, and it was a major earthquake with a maximum seismic intensity of 7. In these circumstances, with the importance of "prompt and accurate decision-making at the outset" and "the need for measures to enable more effective sharing of information" in mind, we were able to contribute to the early recovery of our customers' equipment by pulling together as a company with the support of our head office and engineers nationwide, and the greatest benefit was that we were able to share a sense of achievement and good teamwork (cohesion) with everyone.
Using this experience, even as lifestyles and work styles changed significantly due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection from February 2020 to May 2023, the company demonstrated the benefits of teamwork to minimize the spread of infection, and despite these circumstances, it has maintained a steady increase in business performance from 2021 to the present. In the future, the Kyushu Branch Office (including its five bases) will continue to make use of its inherent teamwork and keep in mind the motto "safety and health come before everything else" as it works towards achieving its team goals.

The establishment of the first plant in Kyushu/Kumamoto by a subsidiary of the world's largest semiconductor foundry (opening ceremony in February 2024) has made it a pressing matter to strengthen the overall structure of the Hitachi High-Tech Group. The construction of a second factory through additional investment (construction to begin by the end of 2024) has already been announced, and the company will continue to work with Hitachi High-Tech to further strengthen its service system.
In April 2024, some of the services of Hitachi's healthcare business were transferred to our company as a result of the company split and transfer to Hitachi High-Tech. In line with this transfer, the Kyushu Branch Office has also welcomed new members of the Medical Instruments 2nd Dept, and from now on, we will work to further improve customer satisfaction by strengthening customer contact and speeding up responses through integrated management with the Medical Instruments 1st Dept.
As part of our social contribution activities, we took part in a clean-up of the area around our office (left) and a general clean-up before the Beppu-Oita Marathon.
Over the next few years, Kyushu is expected to see a rise in activity centered around the semiconductor industry.
In particular, with regard to the semiconductor manufacturing company that has been established in Kumamoto, further factory construction is expected, and it is necessary to view this as a large market, strengthen collaboration with Hitachi High-Tech, and strengthen the system for semiconductor customers in the Kyushu (Kumamoto) area and develop a co-creation base (scheduled to be established by Hitachi High-Tech).
In addition, as the “New Silicon Island Kyushu”, new factories are being built through active investment in power semiconductors, and each of these is scheduled to begin operations by November 2025. In order to develop services in the future, it will be urgent to review and strengthen the service system, strengthen the logistics warehouse (parts supply system), and develop human resources.
On the other hand, there are concerns about cyclical economic downturns in the semiconductor industry, so it will be necessary to continue providing services (value creation) to solve customer issues in all departments in the future, and the Kyushu Branch Office we will Branch Office work together as a team to achieve further growth.
