Tohoku Branch Office

Tohoku Branch Office

Location:Izumi Park Building 3F, 1-12-2 Izumi-chuo, Izumi-ku, Sendai-shi, Miyagi

History of the Branch Office

The Tohoku Branch Office started out as a representative office when the company was established in April 1965, and was renamed the Tohoku Branch Office in March 1996. It is responsible for providing technical support and parts sales for semiconductor evaluation equipment (it also handles Hokkaido), Beam Technology Systems, Analytical Instruments, Medical Instruments, and Industrial Instruments in the six prefectures of Tohoku.
Currently, we have office in Morioka City(Iwate Prefecture), Akita City(Akita Prefecture) and Koriyama City(Fukushima Prefecture) and we provide customer support for Medical Instruments and Industrial Instruments in each region. In April 2020, we also established a new office in Sakata City(Yamagata Prefecture) to provide support for semiconductor-related customers.
In May 2020, we moved to the "Izumi Park Building", which is a 4-minute walk from Izumi Chuo Station on the Sendai Subway.
The main features of the new office are "promotion of flexible working styles through a free-address office system", "arrangement of work spaces and meeting rooms on the same floor", and "consolidation of service cars into a parking lot on the office grounds".
The free-address system has promoted informal communication, improved communication performance within and outside the department, and made it easier to form teams. We came up with a layout plan that wasn't bound by preconceived ideas, and arranged the fixtures. In addition, seven types of seating have been installed, and each employee chooses a seat that suits the content of their work for the day and their mood, and carries out their work. Furthermore, the burden on service engineers has been greatly reduced as the parking lots, which were previously scattered across three locations, have been consolidated into one location on the office premises.
The customers of the Tohoku Branch Office are mainly semiconductor device, semiconductor equipment, and semiconductor material manufacturers for Process Control Systems, and in addition to semiconductor-related customers, the branch also delivers to universities and manufacturers for Beam Technology Systems. The number of units delivered is expected to increase in the future due to the construction of new plants, etc.
Our Analytical Instruments have been delivered to a wide range of customers, including pharmaceutical companies, optical component manufacturers, and local public corporations. In recent years, as data falsification and tampering have become major social issues, the importance of equipment that supports data integrity (DI) has increased, and we are focusing on variation inspections that support DI.
In the field of Medical Instruments, the main customers are the testing departments of university hospitals and major testing centers, as in other regions, and in the field of Industrial Instruments, the main customers are water and sewage works, waste incineration facilities, and industrial plants. In both cases, we are responding to the urgent needs of the medical industry and lifeline facilities with five bases covering the six prefectures of the Tohoku region.

Topics

Every year, the Tohoku Branch Office participates in the Shichikita River Cleanup organized by the Sendai City Izumi Ward Community Development Promotion Council. Employees and their families from the Tohoku Branch Office participate in cleaning up the riverbed on the south side of Shichikita Park, which is close to the office. The event was canceled in 2020 due to the spread of the new coronavirus, but it was resumed the following year and has become an annual event. The group will continue to contribute to the local community through volunteer activities.

Future Prospects

As mentioned above, the number of deliveries is expected to increase due to the continued construction of new semiconductor-related factories and new buildings for several years. We will work to strengthen our service system in collaboration with other departments and contribute to stable operation.
In addition, we will work with four service stations to develop service activities in each region of the wide Tohoku region, and while dealing with new ways of working after the new coronavirus infection, we will strive to create a comfortable working environment that can maximize the creativity of our employees.
