A source of confusion even now

Beware of “gallons”! There are three types of gallons in the United Kingdom (UK) and United States (US). This is down to differing gallons for wine, beer, and grain. The UK unified the gallon to a volume of 4.546L in 1963, but the confusion between the countries persists.
