Hitachi High-Tech recognized by CDP as the "A List" on Climate Change and Water for the second consecutive year
Tokyo, December 18, 2025 – Hitachi High-Tech Corporation ("Hitachi High-Tech", part of Hitachi, Ltd.’s Connective Industries Sector) has been selected for the 2025 "A List" by CDP*1 (headquartered in the UK), a non-governmental organization that conducts environmental research and information disclosure globally. In 2010, we registered with CDP and have continued our efforts to achieve a decarbonized and nature positive society. Hitachi High-Tech has been selected for the second consecutive year as an "A List" in both Climate Change and Water at the same time.
Hitachi High-Tech Group will continue to create environmental value in the entire value chain by promoting various initiatives for achieving carbon neutrality and by reducing the environmental impact of manufacturing and strengthening environmental management. We will contribute to achieving a harmonized society where environment, wellbeing, and economic growth are in balance.
*1 CDP: CDP is a global non-profit charity that runs the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impacts. The organization analyzes and evaluates the environmental initiatives and information disclosure of the world's major companies in the three themes of climate change; water; and forests - and selects the best companies as "A List" companies each year.
Hitachi High-Tech Group's Environmental Initiatives
As a member of the Hitachi Group, Hitachi High-Tech Group is pushing forward with efforts to fulfill an environmental vision and long-term environmental targets, "Hitachi Environmental Innovation 2050*2".
For Climate Change, in order to achieve carbon neutrality throughout the entire value chain by FY2050, Hitachi High-Tech Group is pushing forward with efforts to achieve carbon neutral status in our factories and offices by FY2027. Through these efforts, Hitachi High-Tech has achieved carbon neutrality in 24 facilities. For Water, Hitachi High-Tech Group is working to utilize water effectively by reducing the volume of water used through initiatives including productivity improvements and upgrading to water-conserving equipment. As a result, we pursued our activities in FY2024 with a target for water use efficiency at 61.8% compared to the base year FY2010 and achieved 67.4%. Also, we aim to realize a resource efficient society by improving water use efficiency by 10% or more compared to the base year (FY2019) by FY2030 using circular water and investment in water-saving facilities.
In manufacturing process, we have introduced environmentally conscious design (eco-design), visualized, and reduced the environmental impact, including volume of water consumption, throughout the product life cycle, aiming to provide products with reduced environmental impact. In addition, Hitachi High-Tech Group aims to realize a resource efficient society through initiatives throughout the value chain, and ask our suppliers to cooperate with us in reducing volume of water consumption and preserving water quality based on the Hitachi Group Sustainable Procurement Guidelines. We will continue to work with our suppliers to conduct corporate activities that are responsible for the global environment.

*3 Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD): TCFD is a task force established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB), whose members come from the central banks and financial authorities of major countries. To reduce instability risks in financial markets, TCFD recommends that corporations disclose information about the financial impacts of climate change from both risk and opportunity perspectives, specific responses, strategies, and other relevant matters.
*4 Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD): It refers to the so-named organization and to the framework that it provides for companies and organizations to disclose information and take action on how changes in the natural environment and biodiversity affect their business performance. Disclosure using the framework is intended to help shift global financial flows from nature-negative to nature-positive outcomes. Going forward, more attention is expected to be paid toward TNFD for the conservation of natural capital (geological features, soil, air, water, all living organisms, etc.,) and building a sustainable society.

Hitachi High-Tech Group has identified five themes of Sustainability Focus Areas based on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are priority issues for resolving social issues. One of our identified Sustainability Focus Areas is "Contributing to the Sustainable Global Environment," involving initiatives for realizing a recycling oriented society such as the effective use of water resources.
