These look a lot like sugar cubes even when we step away further.

Answer: Salt

Most of us have had the experience of mistaking sugar for salt when seasoning our food.
What looked like sugar cubes was in fact salt crystals.
These crystals are generally dice-shaped, but can actually take lots of different other shapes depending on the environment in which they are created.
Some are even pyramid-shaped - try looking for them!
