Global environmental problems have come into sharp focus in recent years, highlighting the need to create an environmentally friendly socioeconomic system. The contribution of the business community to environmental conservation is increasingly important. We have formulated a voluntary plan containing the priority issues for conducting business in an environmentally friendly way, and are now tackling them across the company.
Materials procurement is no exception. We are implementing a "green procurement" policy where environmentally friendly products, parts and materials are given priority in our purchasing, in accordance with the Article 3 of the Hitachi High-Tech Guidelines for Procurement Activities.
We will make every effort to minimize the usage of limited forest resources, such as paper and wood, so that we can realize our own procurement activities in consideration of conserving biodiversity.
