Fluorescence Spectrophotometer F-2710
High sensitivity achieved by adopting a high-brightness Xe lamp and optimizing the signal processing system.
Features
1. Achieved Higher Sensitivity
The F-2710 achieves higher sensitivity with an S/N (P-P) of over 300 and an S/N (RMS) of over 1,000 by adopting a high-brightness xenon lamp and optimizing the signal processing system.
Example of S/N Measurement Results
Calibration relationship of very low concentration fluorescein solution
HITACHI's unique high-efficiency diffraction grating and low-noise detection system allow for the measurement of very low concentrations, resulting in a system that effectively measures small amounts of ingredients or samples. The acquired fluorescence intensity is displayed in the range from 0.001 to 9999. Even with low fluorescence intensity a superior calibration relationship can be achieved, and very small amounts of fluorescein, on the order of 1 x 10-12 mol/L, can be detected. As shown here, the F-2710 produces a superior calibration relationship with a coefficient of determination of 0.9998 in the very low concentration range from 1 x 10-12 to 1 x 10-10 mol/L.
2. Standard Long-Life Light Source
The light source is equipped with a long-life type xenon lamp as standard, achieving a light source lifespan (usage limit time) of 2,500 hours, which is five times longer than the standard equipped lamp of the previous model F-2700 (500 hours).
3. Abundant Accessories
More than 30 types of abundant accessories, which were well-received with the F-2700, are available. By utilizing accessories tailored to the measurement sample and analysis purpose, it is possible to respond to measurements in various fields.

Fluorescein Measurement
●Measurement of humic substances
3D fluorescence spectra of humic substances in mineral water
Humic substances are measured as an index of the organic compounds existing in water.
With a very high sensitivity of the F-2700, it is possible to measure organic compounds existing in mineral water at very low concentrations.
●Measurement of chlorophyll a
Calibration curve and fluorescence spectra of chlorophyll a
Chlorophyll a is used for the quantification of aquatic phytoplankton, and is measured as a bioactivity index.
Analogous compounds, such as pheophytin a can also be individually measured with high sensitivity by the fluorescence method, due to their difference in excitation and emission spectra.
