Real Lab Miraikan

A special event only for children enrolled in the Club Science membership club

National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan)
2015/8/19

On August 19, 2015, together with people from Miraikan, we participated in an event to support science education using Tabletop Electron Microscope(TM3030) at the Tokyo Solution Laboratory's Research Wing .
The children were divided into three groups, and were able to experience three exhibits: “Museum Tour of Analytical Devices,” “Touring SEMs and TEMs,” and “Using Tabletop Electron Microscope(TM3030).” The children were asked to bring in things they wanted to look at, which were used as samples for magnifying to examine their structures. A jumping spider caught that day was examined using TM3030, letting the children see the structures of spiders that normally can almost never be seen. Both the children and their guardians, joining them, were able to get a glimpse into the unknown worlds of familiar things.
