Hitachi High-Tech

Science Lessons from Kasado Design & Production Division

Kudamatsu Elementary School, Yamaguchi Prefecture
2019/2

Hitachi High-Tech Kasado Design & Production Division held science lessons for a total of 132 sixth-grade students in four classes at the nearby Kudamatsu Elementary School, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The children were very excited to use a tabletop microscope to see the microscopic world for the first time.
They were also surprised to hear that large electron microscopes can be as tall as a three-story building, and to see the magnified images showing the shapes of pollen and mosquitoes, and they actively and enthusiastically shared their own theories and thoughts.
In the post-class survey we received various comments, including "Thank you for showing me a world I had never seen before," "I learned that lots of discoveries have been made using microscopes," and "It was interesting and easy to understand."
