Taiwan High-School Students Win Honor Prize for Free Research using Tabletop Microscope

Taiwan
2019/4-6

From April to June 2019, Hitachi High-Tech Taiwan conducted 21 lessons using a TM3030Plus tabletop microscope at three schools: St. Peter High School, Hsinchu, Hsinchu Municipal Zhu Guang Junior High School and Fu Jen Catholic High School.

Around 710 students and teachers participated in the lessons at the three schools. Students prepared samples themselves and observed insects, leaves and pollen, actively asking questions and showing lively curiosity.

In November 2018, we collaborated with students from the National Experimental High School At Science Based Industrial Park in Hshinchu on free research which was presented at the 2nd Taiwan High-School Science Exhibition. The school won the honor prize in animal/medical studies for their presentation.

Hitachi High-Tech Taiwan plans to continue supporting science education, starting with assisting with student research, to increase interest in science among the children who will lead society in the future.
