Hitachi High-Tech Korea recently carried out several science support lessons at schools in Korea.

On July 6, 140 students from seven fifth-grade classes at Dongtan A In Elementary School, and from July 12 to 14th, 150 students from six fifth-grade classes at and 125 students from five fifth-grade classes Kyungju Elementary School took part in science lessons using a TM3030 electron microscope that Hitachi High-Tech brought to their classrooms.

The class aimed to engage students though their participation. The students were able to observe chrysanthemums which they had collected from the school grounds themselves as well as insects that were prepared in advance. After the class we received comments from students who were amazed to see things they had never seen before and those who want to see the samples at even higher magnifications.

Hitachi High-Tech Korea will continue to promote science education support using tabletop electron microscopes as a focus area of the Hitachi High-Tech Group's social contribution activities aim of "human development."
