On January 14 and 15, Hitachi High-Tech Malaysia held a STEM education program for 23 students and 3 teachers from Mito Second High School in Ibaraki Prefecture.
On the first day, a lecture was conducted at Tsukuba University Kuala Lumpur Campus, where Hitachi High-Tech members and university professors provided fundamental knowledge and usage instructions on electron microscopes. After the lecture, the students operated the microscope set up at the university and observed insects and pollen.
On the second day, the group moved to Hitachi High-Tech Malaysia's headquarters, where they experienced remote assistance technology using the mixed reality (MR) glasses, Microsoft HoloLens 2. The students connected remotely with their peers in Japan, engaging in a class designed to transfer technology from Japan to Malaysia. They followed instructions from the Japanese students to complete origami.
Moving forward, Hitachi High-Tech Malaysia will continue to contribute to the development of science education through collaboration with the Hitachi High-Tech Group and the Hitachi Group.
