Hitachi High-Tech Korea held a “Summer Science Camp” for employees’ families over two days on August 23 and 30 at its customer co-creation hub, Nanotechnology Innovation Center Korea.
The event featured lectures on the basic structure of semiconductors as well as the principles and applications of electron microscopes, along with hands-on programs designed to make learning enjoyable. These included science quizzes, paper microscope making, and hands-on observation activities. In a session using tabletop electron microscopes to closely observe the structures of plants and insects, participants were introduced to how mechanisms found in nature are applied to product development. The children were fascinated as they discovered the wisdom of nature hidden in everyday products.
Employees who participated commented, “Our children had the rare opportunity to experience electron microscopes and learn about the semiconductor manufacturing process, while creating enjoyable memories together as a family.” The event provided a meaningful opportunity for parents and children alike to explore the world of science and manufacturing.
Hitachi High-Tech Korea will continue to develop and enhance its programs to help employees and their families deepen their understanding of the company, and to foster a sense of pride in being part of the organization.
