On October 20, Hitachi High-Tech conducted an outreach class at Ibaraki Prefectural Ota Daiichi High School Affiliated Junior High School. A total of 80 first-and second-year junior high school students participated.
The class began with a lecture on the Hitachi High-Tech Group and tabletop electron microscopes, as well as the useful tools developed through electron microscopy. Afterward, students were divided to participate in hands-on sessions with the microscope. Since the school is located in Ibaraki Prefecture, the birthplace of Hitachi, the students showed strong interest and actively participated in the class.
After the class, students shared comments such as “I learned that the mechanisms and shapes revealed through electron microscopy can become hints for technologies and products that enrich society” and “I enjoyed learning about electron microscopes! It was a valuable experience.” A teacher also mentioned, “The students responded very positively, and I was reminded once again of the importance of opportunities to interact with real objects.”
Hitachi High-Tech is committed to supporting science education by utilizing its own products, with the aim of inspiring more children to develop an interest in advancing future technologies.
