A luminous phenomenon from a laser emitting diode has been observed using a cathode luminescence imaging technique at a wavelength of 625 nm. The laser is used for a light source for reading data from CD-R. The image encourages us forward the coming of a new generation.

At 56th photo contest hosted by the Japanese Society of Electron Microscopy in 2000.
