The fantasy world is actuary an electron diffraction of oxide materials photographed with a transmission electron microscope. The figure shows each material, crystal orientation and crystal structure. Electron diffraction patterns reflecting an atom arrangement may remind you of a scene in fireworks festival, a pastime which gives poetic charm.

At 63rd photo contest hosted by the Japanese Society of Microscopy in 2007.

Condition

Specimen: Nb2O5, V2O5, Mg2Al4Si5O18

Instrument: Transmission Electron Microscope H-9500

Accelerating voltage: 300 kV
