On July 14th, SEMI (Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International) announced the results of the International Board of Directors' election in San Francisco. The association's membership elected Osamu Nakamura, Vice President and Executive officer, and General Manager of the Semiconductor Equipment Business Group of Hitachi High-Technologies, to the International Board of Directors.
The SEMI International Board of Directors' election & reelection is held once a year by the member companies. The tenure of the board is two years.
SEMI is the global industry association of microelectronic, display and photovoltaic industries. As a global and an advanced organization, it is working for more than 35 years. It is working with over 2,000 companies all over the world and among these companies, 630 companies are Japanese. Based in 11 cities worldwide, an important subject is faced for the development of related companies, and the cooperation organization of the industry and mutual exchange are supported.
Hitachi High-Technologies can take this election as read that our company's role in the semiconductor manufacturing equipment industry and contribution was evaluated and is a sign of future expectation. In response to this, we will continue to try our best to contribute to the further development of SEMI.
