Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation (TOKYO: 8036, Hitachi High-Tech) today announced plans to create an optimal business management system in the scientific instruments and control systems businesses and domestic manufacturing functions. This move will entail transferring all the functions of Hitachi High-Tech Group company Hitachi High-Tech Control Systems Corporation (HCS) and some of Hitachi High-Tech's functions to Hitachi High-Tech and other Group companies on October 1, 2013 via corporate separation and integration.
Hitachi High-Tech leverages its own world-leading technology, and global sales capability and network to promote business. Guided by its corporate vision of "becoming a Global Top in high-tech solutions," the Hitachi High-Tech Group formulated its Long-term Management Strategy (CS11: Corporate Strategy 2011) in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012, and is aggressively promoting business development in growth fields.In addition, Hitachi High-Tech introduced a business group system to clarify business responsibility and better promote speedy business operations.
In order to deepen the business group system and achieve the goals of CS11, Hitachi High-Tech has decided to bring together functions spread throughout the Group in the scientific instruments and control systems businesses, as well as to integrate domestic contract manufacturing functions for greater efficiency and overall optimization.
Design and domestic sales functions of the analytical instruments business in Hitachi High-Tech and HCS will be integrated into Hitachi High-Tech Group company Hitachi High-Tech Science Corporation (HHS)*, which will be positioned as an operating company for analytical instruments in the Hitachi High-Tech Group.
This move is aimed at quickly pursuing maximum synergies between the analytical instruments business of Hitachi High-Tech and HCS, including spectroscopic analysis and liquid chromatographs, and the analytical instruments business of HHS, including thermal analysis and X-ray fluorescence analysis. Furthermore, HCS' design and manufacturing functions for general-purpose electron microscopes will be integrated in Hitachi High-Tech to create an integrated electron microscope business.
The design and manufacturing functions of HCS' control systems business, which includes measurement devices and information control systems, will be integrated into Hitachi High-Tech Group company Hitachi High-Tech Solutions Corporation (HSL), which is responsible for sales. This move will create an integrated control systems business and strengthen cooperation with the HSL's strong IT business, including softwaredevelopment.
HCS' contract manufacturing functions will be amalgamated with Hitachi High-Tech Group company Hitachi High-Tech Manufacturing & Service Corporation (HMS), which will be positioned as the Hitachi High-Tech Group's domestic contract manufacturing company for achieving greater efficiency and overall optimization.
